Tactile Art Show
Yesterday I was awarded Best of Show in the St. Augustine Art Association’s Tactile Art show. I have three pieces in the exhibit and fellow SAQA member Diane Hamburg has two pieces on display. I’m really happy to see fiber art cracking some glass ceilings in the fine art world and only wish there had been more fiber art on display.

500 Art Quilts
Two of my works have been accepted in Lark Books’ “500 Art Quilts.” The book will be on the shelves March 2010.

Language of Conservation
The Fiber Artists Network’s (FAN) has a current display at the Jacksonville Main Library. Fourteen works will be on display until October 29th, and I strongly encourage everyone interested in fiber art to visit this exhibit. It was juried by Jo Sinclair and is one of the best FAN has produced. The works cover a wide range of fiber techniques but, most importantly, they all address the basic elements of design and more than qualify as outstanding fine art.
